Acting Out is thrilled to be offering our annual summer SHINE program, now two weeks long! This is a fast-paced two-week program culminating in an incredible LIVE performance. The entire session and final performances will be at our Acting Out! space.
The first day is devoted to auditioning prep. All audition material will be provided in class

Throughout the two weeks, actors will be immersed in various theatre activities, including character development, costume design, improv, musical theater dance, and more!
​
We will also explore choreography, vocal technique, and acting to create our final production of FAME JR. Regardless of being the "lead" or in the ensemble, each student will be pushed to learn new skills and work towards our final performance.
Our theater intensive is for all skill levels and will give every cast member a chance to shine! We focus on self-confidence, self-expression, commitment, and of course, FUN!

Nick Piazza- focused on learning the craft of "real" acting.

Serena Katz - loves the life of an artist but is equally as interested in boys, specifically Nick.
​
Joe (José) Vegas - the class clown who loves performing on and offstage.
​
Tyrone Jackson- has talent, but he wants to use it his own way rather than conform to the school's rules.
​
Carmen Diaz -believes she is ready for stardom, and nothing is going to stop her.
​
Iris Kelly - pretends she is wealthy and high-class but drops these pretenses once she feels comfortable.
​
Mabel Washington- enjoys performing as much as she hates dieting. Mabel eventually learns to be happy with herself and her body, but not before fully experiencing the pains of being a dancer.
​
Schlomo Metzenbaum- a really likable guy who tries to get along with everyone.
​
Grace (Lambchops) Lamb- a drummer with a lively personality.
​
Goodman (Goody) King- is the third band member.
​
Miss Esther Sherman (English Teacher) -a powerful, strong woman who firmly believes academic subjects are the core of a solid education.
​
Ms. Greta Bell (Dance Teacher)- a passionate teacher who is not afraid to push her students to reach their full artistic potential.
​
Mr. Myers (Acting Teacher)- is perhaps the most relaxed of the teachers, but he still demands full commitment from the students.
​
Mr. Sheinkopf (Music Teacher) -adds a bit of comic relief to the show, but still doesn't let up when there is work to be done.
