Pippin Auditions

Auditions: February 19 6:30-9pm OR February 21 1-4pm
Prepare 16 measures of a song FROM PIPPIN. Dress appropriately for DANCE audition.
SHOWDATES: May 14-17 (total FOUR shows- possible 5 th if we sell out.)

This will be a FUNDRAISER, and we will perform with Tracks-
Rehearsals will be primarily THURSDAYS 6:30-9:30. Additional rehearsals may be added on Mondays or Tuesdays to work on choreography. This will be rehearsed in a condensed time frame, so commitment is essential.
We will also be looking for cast members with “circus skills”. Unicycle, juggling, acrobatics…you get it. BREAK A LEG!!

Our high school class is also putting on PIPPIN, which will go up the weekend prior!

CHARACTERS
Leading Player
· ' Masterfully charming and manipulative, the Leading Player is a chameleon of sorts. Excellent dancer.
Pippin (stage age 18-25)
· Our story's young and confused protagonist.
Charlemagne/Charles (stage age 40-65plus)
· Pippin’s demanding and less-than-attentive father.
Lewis (stage age 18-30)
· Pippin's not-too-bright half-brother,
Fastrada (stage age 35-50)
· Pippin’s conniving stepmother
Berthe
· Pippin’s saucy grandmother (stage age 60 plus)
Catherine
Widow and mother (stage age 25-35)
Theo (stage age 10-14)
· A small loveable boy, Theo is Catherine's son

The Head: The dismembered head of a common man, a Visigoth who died on the field of battle against the armies of Charlemagne,

Beggar: A poor subject of Charlemagne's empire, which Pippin has taken over, the Beggar convinces Pippin of the unfairness of Charlemagne's taxes.

Peasant: A poor subject of Charlemagne's empire, the Peasant convinces Pippin that those who work the land should own it.

Field Marshall: A military leader in Charlemagne's empire, the Field Marshall informs newly-crowned Pippin of impending disaster

Noble: A nobleman of the empire, he points out to Pippin that without taxes and land ownership, he has no power over the peasants to raise an arm
Understudies for principal roles, if deemed necessary.
