Acting Out is thrilled to be offering our annual summer Center Stage two-week program again! After a tough year of uncertainty, we couldn’t be happier to be back doing what we all love.
The goal of Center Stage is still the same, a fast-paced two-week program culminating in an incredible LIVE OUTDOOR performance. For this 2021 session, we have some slight changes...
The entire first week of the session will be at our Acting Out! space. The first day is devoted to audition prep in the morning and auditioning in the afternoon. The rest of the first week mornings will have actors immersed in a variety of theatre activities including( but not limited to) set and costume design, physical comedy, acting and character development, Shakespeare, improv, musical theater dance, and more!
Each day we will explore something new!
Every afternoon will be focused on our musical production. We will explore choreography, vocal technique, and acting to create our final production. We will be utilizing our 6500 square foot space as well as multiple outdoor areas.
During the second week of our session, we will spend all five days at our performance venue space. Our performance venue is a large outdoor space with plenty of opportunities to rehearse and perform. At the end of the week, we will have our performance ready for audiences on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Our theater intensive is for all skill levels and will give every cast member a chance to shine! We focus on self-confidence, self-expression, commitment, and of course, FUN!
Please note: As long as you receive a Paypal receipt, your child's spot is secured! You will not receive a confirmation email from us.
Why the change in price?
--To make our performance safe and accessible to our students and audience, we are committing to an outdoor live performance that requires us to rent an outdoor venue. This $50 increase in tuition is to cover the use of this outdoor venue, rental of lighting/sound equipment, and the additional staff.
Why are the classes split into two age levels?
--In years prior, we have had upward of 60 children, averaging a total of 30 children per class. In order to safely have this amount of students in our course, and to tailor our sessions more appropriately to our age levels, we have created two separate sessions of center stage.
What will my child need?
--Please make sure they are sent every day with plenty of snacks, a lunch, and lots of water. They should wear comfortable clothes and appropriate shoes for dance. We will be wearing masks all day long, so please plan to bring some spares as well!
What if it rains during REHEARSALS OUTSIDE?
--The Rolling Ridge has a large indoor area that will accommodate this. HOWEVER, a drizzle won't stop us from being outside, so come prepared with jackets if needed!
What if it rains during the PERFORMANCE?
--We will determine a rain date/accommodation if necessary
