Master Class with Christine Dwyer (Elphaba, Wicked) and Matt Deangelis (Waitress, Once)

Matt DeAngelis and Christine Dwyer are combining forces to teach contemporary musical theatre techniques! Together they have over 11 years of experience (3000+ performances!) on Broadway or Broadway National Tou​rs. They will help you take your material to the ne​xt level.

 

MATT DEANGELIS - a veteran of over 800 performances of the hit musical Hair including Broadway, The West End, and National Tour playing the role of Woof. He also launched  the 1st National Tour of Green Day’s American Idiot and was seen playing multiple instruments in the Tony Award Winning musical Once as Svec. Matt has been seen in the Broadway Company and National Tour of Waitress as Earl.  He is currently starring in the world premiere of Secret Life of Bees at the Atlantic Theatre Company.

 

CHRISTINE DWYER - after graduating with a BFA from The Hartt School, toured the US, Canada, and Japan playing Maureen in the national tour of RENT. She is best known for touring the country and flying into Broadway as Elphaba in Wicked. She has donned the green as Elphaba over 1000 times including the 2014 Tony Awards to celebrate the show’s 10 year anniversary and  for President Barack Obama and Chancellor Angela Merkel at the 2016 Hannover Messe in Hannover Germany representing the United States. Christine was recently seen touring the country as Sylvia Llewelyn Davies in Finding Neverland, the Musical. This past April, she was in the NBC Live Jesus Christ Superstar concert, starring Sara Bareilles and John Legend. She is currently leading the National Tour of Waitress as Jenna.

ACT NATURALLY- Acting Workshop with Matt Deangelis and Christine Dwyer!

Tuesday, September 17th AGES 10-18 4pm to 6:30  $90  Limit 16

Work with two BROADWAY professionals to develop character, analyze your scene, work with (some) props, and explore and understand blocking.    If you are new to the stage or just looking for feedback, join us for this informative, fun opportunity to brush-up on your "natural"  acting ability!   Scenes will be assigned prior to the workshop.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to have your vocal selection critiqued by some of Broadway's best!  Prepare a song of choice, please bring sheet music.  Acting Out will  provide an accompanist. If you have an upcoming audition this is the perfect way to prepare!   Matt and Christine will offer suggestions and show you ways to showcase that "one voice" that must be heard!

Winter Improv Acting Workshop

March 11-13 2019  $100

Week One: Mon-Wed 6-8pm

Adults 18+ Novice to Experienced Actors

Spend three days working on Scenes, Monologues and Improv for two hours each night. You can work on an audition monologue or learn a new one, perform a scene you've been dying to try and play around with tons of fun Improv in between! There will be a "No Pressure" performance to showcase the work done during the workshop which will be open to family and friends! Bring materials you wish to work on or be provided with something special by Reese! 

 

Winter Playwriting Workshop

March 11-13 2019 $80

Week Two: Mon-Wed 6-8pm

Adults 18+ Novice to Experienced Playwrights 

Spend three days working on creating a play of your own for two hours each night.You can work on a 5 minute or 10 minute play. Come prepared with a list of topics to explore and learn how to put it into a play writing format. Bring your stories to life on stage! There will be a "No Pressure" performance to showcase the work done during the workshop which will be open to family and friends!
